The Lifecare team can support all your pelvic health needs including pre and post-natal support and incontinence.

Our highly experienced Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist works with both men and women to manage and optimise pelvic floor strength. Pelvic floor Physiotherapy can assist with:

  • Pregnancy and post-natal changes
  • Menopause
  • Pelvic surgery rehabilitation, including prostate surgery, hernia repair, spinal surgery, hip and pelvis surgery
  • Incontinence in men and women

Our team works with both women and men to support in strengthening the pelvic floor muscles. We can assist with issues relating to:

  • Post natal
  • Pregnancy
  • Menopause
  • Recent surgery (prolapse, hernia, spinal, hip and pelvis)
  • Incontinence

Women’s health

Many women have pelvic floor weakness, especially after having children, some signs to look out for include:

  • Bladder leakage when coughing, sneezing or lifting
  • Feelings of ‘heaviness ‘ and lower abdominal pain
  • Feeling a need to go to the toilet frequently
  • Pre and post-natal women typically develop  pelvic floor problems.
  • Woman going through menopause also commonly have pelvic floor instability.

We work with you to develop programs and exercises that can help support in strengthening your pelvic floor especially as some exercises performed incorrectly can cause further issues.

Men’s health

Many men suffer from incontinence issues and the signs are similar for males and females. We provide a range of support services for men with pelvic floow issues that can stem from:

  • Prostrate issues or surgery
  • Hernia repair
  • Spinal surgery
  • Leakage issues
  • Persistent back pain during or after workouts

We recommend treating any issues as early as possible and can provide quick and easy pelvic floor assessments whilst you are at PARC.
